If you want, you can just steal my HTML and use it on your own. I just post to a Careerbuilder URL with my form fields. I was frustrated with the RSS features Careerbuilder offered so I just created my own front-end
Yeah, I'm planning on going up to Bowler for Sat & Sun. I was going to ask Nick when he is going up to see if I could hitch a ride. Most likely I'll end up driving myself because I can't stay for the weekdays after. If I get another deer is your freezer still available for storage?
Hi Evan. My site is programmed in Classic ASP and doesn't use any sort of server-side framework. There are a few code snippets that I've borrowed from here and there but about 90% of my site is hand coded by myself. I've never been a big fan of content management systems as I feel they sort of take the easy way out when it comes to creating a website.
Hey Neal! How's it going? I keep seeing on Facebook how many new sites you're launching - congrats.
I am writing b/c I am start to do some consulting of my own, with PR and marketing. I bought my domain name (www.moonbeampr.com) on GoDaddy (which Jason suggested.) Now I have a temporary page up, but want to get something more professional done. I really want a professionally created home page and then some templates made for supporting pages so I can add more as needed. Where I work now, we use Mambo as a CMS and have this same situation (Herkimer Media created the home page and templates and I do the rest.)
What type of expense would I be looking at to get a Neal Grosskopf design? :) I will add that as I continue to grow my own business, there is a high likelihood that my clients will also need design work and I'd be happy to refer! Feel free to reply on Facebook or via email (firstname.lastname@example.org).
I got feedback on the Saturday showing with this comment from the realitor:
"Prospect likes location and setting. Wil give it further consideration."
My realitor called today and she seemed optimistic about the comment and is going to follow up with the buyer's realitor later this week. We're also doing an open house this Sunday. Hopefully something happens soon as I'm hearing chatter from above that there will be more layoffs at my work.
Thanks for booking that room Kate. New Years should be a lot of fun this year. It was quite a bit of fun last year. Hope Christmas went well for you. I'll probably post the 12 days of Christmas video we sang this year...it's a classic.
Thanks for the email Kate, I'll probably go to that since I doubt anything is going to be going on this year and that was fun last year. (Gez I can't believe it's been a year already). Not sure how the open house went but I have a couple looking at it on Tuesday apparently.
Kate, I should have a bed now, Emily and I worked something out and I'll end up with the bed now. Not sure if I'll be in New London anymore this weekend because Mom and Dad are coming to Oshkosh to help clean the house. It's going up for sale starting next Tuesday.
Hi Joe, you can actually post YouTube videos to my website (so that they are viewable on my site) using my Open Videos section.
In the "Video URL" text box, add the URL to the video on YouTube. In the "Embed Video" paste the YouTube source code to embed videos. The other text boxes are pretty
@Sarah: Thanks! It was fun. You can check out some pictures I took while I was there on Flickr.
@Kate: My vote goes for stressing me out. We almost ought to go to some sort of dog training classes or something.
Yeah, I'm sorry for still hosting http://hwe.nealgrosskopf.com (which probably shows up in some search results.) I still host it because I designed it and I like to use it in my web design portfolio as an example of some work I've done. Keep up the good work on your site!
I believe my relatives came over to America during the late 1880's to early 1900's. I also believe they all came to Wisconsin and settled here although some may have stayed in New York but I'm not aware of any relatives that did. Sorry I can't be more of a help.
Yup, I had a good birthday. It was the first day of a 5 day weekend so that was nice to have as well. I did manage to listen to your message. Thanks Kate (and Nick). I believe you went to Illinois this weekend. How was that?
The new guitar is nice. I've learned a few acoustic songs so far. It would be nice to have at a camp fire or something like that. I can't wait until I live in a house and I can really crank up my electric guitar too! Also I left the DVDs in your mailbox just so ya know.
I saw that on Slashdot and thought it was a good idea on South Park's part. For some reason the crew at south park have always been ok with people downloading the show online compared to some other shows out there. I wonder if the download-able episodes will have commericals in them or not. The 30 character limit is an old legacy .js file from my old site design. I checked in the database and the limit is actually 50 characters.
Yay, my home page's pagerank is at a 2! Could it have something to do with it being linked to from slashdot.org because it is displayed in my profile? Either way, my website's 2 year old birthday is soon so it's about time I get some much deserved pagerank from Google!
Hi Sarah, I miss you as well. We haven't been back to New London since Kate's wedding. Things are going alright for us down in Sheboygan. We should be back to New London within the next month I believe. How's your family doing? Anything fun going on with you guys. Talk to you later!
Wow, I was just looking through google analytics and noticed that users were coming to my site by searching for "windows live map". Upon further investigation I found my website is ranked 4th on yahoo for that sequence of words. Now If I would just get around to fixing that damn page in IE (not sure what it looks like in firefox)
Try them out now. I changed the privacy settings on YouTube to public. I guess I really didn't feel like having the files available to be viewed on YouTube...It's just alot easier to put them on there and share them on my site.
Kate Hu! How is it going? I can get you your wedding pictures one way or another. How did your honeymoon go? Also do you want me to update your name on my website from Kate Gr to Kate Hu? Hu almost sounds like a legitimate name, like you are asian or something.
Hi you two. Nothing much going on with me right now. It was nice to see you Sarah at Kate's. I thinkt the next time we'll all see eachother will be at my wedding in a few weeks. Hopefully you guys have fun at it and dance and stuff. Well I should probably get back to work now. See ya later!
Chris, I was renaming files within windows and hit control + right arrow and it skipped to the next word. Comes in handy when you need to camel case files such as .mp3 files. I wonder how long this has been around and if windows had it first.
I checked out that site. I make better websites than that. Doing the whole freelance thing is sort of a pain in the butt though. Did you know that Dustin White and two other people started a web company in the fox valley? I guess they charge something like $80 an hour too. Lol I did this whole site here for $90! Thanks for the link!
It sounds like the game does not support/run on your graphics card. I believe you have a very vanilla graphics card. What is the exact message it gives you and what game are you trying to play?
Also are you trying to play this on that eMachine that we got you the day after Thanksgiving?
Yeah It might be that the text is too long. For some reason I didn't make the comment field as memo for openlinks. That might be a bit over 255. I think I was trying to save space or something...lol. I'll either create a check on the length of the textbox or just turn it into memo.
Woops, my photo gallery isn't working quite right. Check out the latest image kate posted. I'll have to fix that tonight! (it's not often I point something out thats wrong lol) Anyways good use of my photo gallery Kate, it's under used.
My fault, at least on my site, not at jobs is lazyness. I have the luxery on nealgrosskopf.com of having very few visitors and if you (chris) wern't one of them I'd almost never have to worry about security.
As far as those darn spammers, last nite I implemented some code that should do a better job at stopping them. I purposly saved several of their spam posts and noticed paterns in them, what their first and last names are, what words they typically use ect. While it won't stop everyone it will stop the three that visit my site every month.
Chris are you the one voting for empty radio buttons in the polling booth? The IP address and time of day would suggest it. Is it something that I am doing wrong that you are trying to point out or is it you using the Web Dev toolbar and clearing out form values? Either way let me know what's going on.
Nice a 10 dollar gift card. How old was the girl? Was she older than you or younger? I guess I'm willing to take it out on old people but people my own age at retail stores, well I'm more compassionate with them.
Congrads on the tickets. Is Nick going with you? Is he into latin music at all?
Well if there are people out there like me who recieve some of the crappy service I get I can understand why. My site has gone down for entire days before. One time I renewed my debit card number and a month later they just turned my site off without emailing me or anything (stating that my card was no longer valid). Also FTP only works 50% of the time for me. I realize that $3 a month is really cheap but sometimes I'd be willing to pay more for reliability.
Lol everytime I come to my site I find something else I didn't do correctly and have to fix it. The only two design things I might still do is make my banner up top slightly taller, and I might futz with the main menu, possibly giving the links a rounded edge rather than being rectangles. Oh also do I still have a pop pie at your house? I'll be hungry when I get home :P.
The 2nd semester is going ok. I work Wed. and Fri. I have class Tue and Thur and then work at Lakeland on those days as well. I do the same amount of driving as last semester other than another trip to Thrivent from home. The biggest difference is I do the same amount of driving in less days so it feels like a lot more driving. Sadly I feel just as busy as last semester despite less school work. See ya.
Anybody have an opinion on the new message board look and feel...primarily the home page for the message board. I'm not sure what I think of it yet so let me know your opinion..ie the colors are too similar, hard on the eyes, or looks great. Thanks!
Hello all, you may not know but there is a new version of Internet Explorer out now. (That what you probably use to view my site.) I currently have it on my computer. This means I will have a hard time supporting everyone who doesn't have it. Please go here and download it. Thanks!
Well my grades were slightly better than I expected, no D's ...yet. I just want to graduate so I can leave this boring school. I already have two jobs in my field so I feel like I'm half way graduated already. With the internship thing, basically my advisor is new at our school and isn't a great deal of help because of it.
Hi all! I've added a new feature to the messageboad. In the "Replies" column you'll notice numbers. They are now links that you can click. It will take you to a page that lists all the users who replied to that thread and tells you home posts they made in it. (This post is really just a test post for me but I thought I'd mention that as well)
AHHHHHHH! My site has been down for the last 2 hours. It is finally up. After calling 1and1.com they told me they were doing updates to the server. (Some cockney british helped me tho I couldn't understand her)Good to see it is up again.
Hey Kate, how much do I owe you for the wedding for the dance floor? We would like to pay asap.
Also I would like to let everyone that posts on my site, that the dates are screwed up on it right now, so it shows up dd/mm/yy when it should show up mm/dd/yy. I am working on fixing this. sorry!
Hit control alt delete. Then click Processes. Maybe even sort it by User Name as well then. Is there alot of things running under your account? Are any of them using a lot of memory? (anything over 30,000k?) Write down the ones that are. Then post it on here. You could have some crazy program running in the background on your computer.
My first day was today. I have two classes that are sort of dumb. My f'n books cost $650 (I didn't buy them all) I had a professor tell us that if we weren't a biology major, we should drop out of his class. (Not much encouragment from a teacher)
Hi all. I've added a new feature to the messageboard. If you signed up for an account you can now edit your posts. You must be logged in first in order to do it. So sign up and fix those spelling errors or thing you wish you hadn't said that are on here now.
I think you are talking about the one we did for Mark's class? I have an old version of it on my site, It's not linked to though. I am satisfied with my current message board right now (you'll notice I learned how to do sorting as well now) Hey you should make a thing on your site so that people can reply to your blog posts. I always want to make a remark to them.
My job is going good. I just started doing some website stuff today which is just what I wanted. Yeah I saw Corey's mom sitting down to eat as I was checking out so I sat by her (I know nobody there) It wasn't as akward as sitting by your Sister's high school ex boyfriends mom would be. Lol. Aidios!
Hey Andy. Yeah I got hired at Thrivent! I'm really excited about that. I start May 22nd. My site here and 2 others that I do go thru 1and1.org. They are 3 bucks a month which is really cheap. You are allowed several gigs of bandwidth and space as well. It comes with asp as well which is what I like. A similar package comes with php if your into that.
Hola, It feels great to be done, I was really getting tired of school. It feels even better to be completly unpacked now. What day are you guys moving out? I know there seems to be a lot of things going on for me at the end of May already. Well I need to go to work now. See ya.
I wanted the polls to be that way. The go home link is also the way I want it since It should act like all the other links in my navigation. Even if my site becomes less search engine friendly (which at the moment it indexes a few pages but only the iframes without the wrapper and thus is pretty useless) then that is ok because now a lot of pages can be bookmarked unlike before.
What do you mean? Like if you type a question in there earlier today, can I come back later and see what you wrote? Yeah I could do something like that. I could even have a display page of what other people have typed into it.
So what does everybody think of the site changes? I know the log in system is too pratical unless you check "remember me" so make sure you do that when you log in! I like the pagination on the blog and messageboard pages.
I think that was the point Chris was trying to make. That anybody can post as anybody on here. There usually isn't any trouble makers though so it isn't a big deal. I have a user account system in the works that allows people to log in and out.
Hi everybody. How would you feel about a log in system on my site? At the moment anybody can post as anybody by simply typing their first and last name in. I am thinking of making a log in / log out system for my site so that people could log in and it would remember their names and also making it so others can't take their names.
Well you just hit "reply" on the home page and it will go to that thread and then you can reply by scrolling down. I will change you previous post so that it is a reply rather than a new post. Also the home message board page is sorted by date posted. So if you reply to a post it automatically goes to the top.
So what does everybody think of the templates? I think they are pretty good. I put a lot of time and effort into them. Now comes the boring part of web site making...Copying over all her pages into the templates.
Thanks Andy! Hopefully thrivent hires me, I wasn't sure if you worked at Thrivent or were working there for a staffing service. The position I'm applying for is an IT Internship. It would be doing VB.Net or working on their website. Hopefully I'll get in working on their website. Well see ya later.
Thanks Jennifer. I'm not done yet with it but I expect to have a final design done in a week or so. There are still a few weird bugs that happen here and there that I would like to fix. I tried to make the site look good on your laptop monitor and people who have a larger monitor. I'm happy that your happy : )
Kate the pictures are currently on my home page under the "lattest blog entry" heading. If I enter a new blog entry before you read this, then click on "my blog" on the navigation bar and scroll down and you will see some links to the pictures.
Hey Kate. The job fair rocked. I parked in a parking lot a bit south of south scott. (it was the student parking lot and it was like half a mile from the building the fair was in.) I talked to a bunch of companies, one company I talked to makes websites for other companies so they sound quite interesting. I also talked to Thrivent and I am excited about my interview there. Well see ya later.
Hmm, did you click on the think to my website? Did that link work? Also on the Lakeland page it take a good 10 seconds to load on some computers. Did you wait long enough for it to load. Also did any sort of error pop up? I've tried the page in several scenarios and it worked. Most likely your computer is not up to date on its software required for the internet...cough cough java script.
According to my records your vote was counted. Before you voted there was only 2 votes for option 1. There is 3 now.
This Is You
24 option1 188.8.131.52 2/15/2006 9:41:16 PM
The page now shows 3 votes.
There are two variations of the stars. One filled, one not. Too bad your computer and mine are the only two I'm aware of that they show up on. I still have no idea why it works on mine with Windows XP IE 6.0 and my mom has the same setup and it doesn't. Could be some setting in IE that allows or disallows it.
Hmm, I don't recall doing anything to the chair to get it to do that. I know there are small switches on the bottom of chairs that allow for them to go in recline mode or to stay straight up (at least mine does that) I guess look around a bit for some sort of switch down there. Sorry I wasn't more help.
Lol, It sorts by "Fname" For the time being that will be good enough. I didn't expect such an uproar about it. Essentially for me to sort it correctly I need to have SQL create a "temporary table" then read from that. I believe it is the "create view" statement. Anyways thanks for the input.
Check this out, in the End User Liscense Agreement for Google Earth:

To my amaze Amazon.com and Microsofts headquarters are a mere 16 miles apart with Bill Gates house smack dab in the middle of them both in lovely Seattle. Even funnier is Yahoo.com and Google.com are only 6 miles apart near San Jose California. Google Earth is pretty cool! http://earth.google.com/
Gez Tyler you always gotta post things I have edit, well I'll leave it up there for a bit and then "clean it up" Yes an Unreal game would be nice, perhaps you and me could get a game going. Thanks for visiting.
Thanks Andy, Me and Chris brought over pages for the site (about 75% of them.) My boss did the overall design of it with quite a bit of input from me and Chris. We basically copied the body of the pages into a template.
Well they are my friends, they just need some help. Oh by the way, Andy do you have a website or anything online? Where do you work now? Hows it treating you man? Thanks for your two cents as well, lol.
Hey man you can afford it, this site only costs me $3 a month (I pay $18 every 6 months) It's nice to mess around with and try out some ASP stuff since I can't do that locally. I'm at Lakeland College not Silver Lake although they are only a half an hour apart. It's not too bad here. Their computer science degree is nowhere as good as Tech's program was. You learn alot more there but regardless I'll end up with a bachlors degree. Well back to some more homework for me.
