Hey there, this site is pretty old now. I've decided to leave it up as I put a lot of work into it and would hate to see it disappear.

Fix Firefox 3.5's Annoying Detachable Tab I've noticed over and over again in Firefox 3.5 when I drag tabs, they randomly pop open in a new window. Since I pretty much hate new windows and fully embrace tabbed browsing I found a nifty FF addon that disables this 'feature'.

I also recommend this - in particular to disable the evil new tab button. This links to the same extension for disabling the tear-off tabs behavior. It's pretty easy to be re-ordering tabs and accidentally drop it onto the wrong place causing a new window to open. One workaround is to open a second blank tab in the new window to show the tab bar (unless you have it set to always show), then drag the tab back to the original window, then close the new blank tab.

For whatever reason I like the small plus sign that lets me add a new tab. (probably a holdover from my IE7 days). When I first switched to FF I found an addon that put that button in FF. I can see why other users might not want it though.
